She calls me on the phone
I'll come and get you mama when I can
You'll be safe in that old home

The water's peaked about 5 to 6 feet
And now it's resting at about 4
I take the wood from the floating pews
And build a boat that I can moor

I think of mama in that attic
With her useless mind distressed
I wave down the guards outside the church
And I tell them her address

Iranians that owned a nearby store

I left my church with the bibles and hymn books
