Who left this earth scarred and broken hearted
Finished something her family started
And god didn't give her a soul but art did.

I call my grandpa up when I start to miss the sea
He's got Alzheimer's disease and he can't remember me.
But no one can touch memory like it's a photograph.
I listen to every word he says and I love to hear him laugh.

Big respect to those that came before Who tried to make us into gentlemen and ladies
Who took us in their arms and said "upsy daisy"
Who washed us in kitchen sinks when we were babies.
