Once a spring so long ago A time when flowers grow Amidst a field of daffodils There grew a yellow rose At first a small bush growing Spreading upward leaf by leaf To be ABOVE all the daffodils was its hope and its belief Within time the day arrived The bush now felt a power That soon within a little time It would become a flower Struggling, grasping Reaching for the heavens Upward grew the little bush Advantage nature had not given Shadows of darkness The air a pending storm Arrogant to that which was around it Things that might cause it harm Rolling clouds and crashing thunder Mother Natures Violence Suddenly across the field There came an eriee, a deafening silence Enoumous gusts of violent wind Swept across the field Breaking the bush, almost a rose As it tried to refuse to yield Its petals stripped Its hopes all gone The rose began to fade Back below the daffodils The destiny it had made Broken, humbled Left with only the smallest of dreams To live below the daffodils Its destiny it seems Learning and healing Crippled and scared Memories of a violent storm For which it was not prepared Many seasons came and past To again a little bush To live AMONG the daffodils was the roseplant's only wish Then one bright brilliant shining morning Mother Nature smiled and held out her hand to this scarred and humbled bush She realized the bush knew completely now growing cannot be rushed And Nature seeing this little bush Repenting for its sins Gave the bush a ray of hope The rose would bloom again At first a quiet spark A flickering A flame Rays of brilliant sunlight Curing all the pain Upward, skyward bound the rose Strong and true and sure The rose now knew within heart Motives that were pure Blooming with the brilliant color of the effervecent sun The rose now knew for sacrifice The gift that it had won Once above the daffodils Much to its surprise Were miles and miles of the most beautiful flowers Gods gift Mother Natures prize A lesson learned by life undone One no other can take To be above the daffodils Is the respected humble glory Only Mother Nature can make Download the mp3 at www.geocities.com/daffodils7/ The music tells the story, well worth downloading
