Woke up in the water with nothing behind me And nothing ahead but a mist in the sky Floating alone down a current of trouble Where people are nothing But logs floating by I dig my feet in and it pushes me forward (Time waits for no one and never slows down) There is no control and the only true hope: Stay awake and i'll find solid ground Cannot sink too deep Cannot run to shore Cannot fall asleep There is something more There's a place at the end of the stream I have seen it before in my dreams While the world may seem a mess There's a place worth every breath Where the river is going, it never stops flowing and leading me closer to death The water is deep and so friendly and tempting and life is for living (we know this is true) But explore too deep and you'll sink in the mud Stay out of the black and into the blue While the shore is an exit for those who are desperate To always avoid feeling desperate or drowned They'll sink in the sand When they step onto land I'm waiting for my solid ground Cannot sink too deep Cannot run to shore Cannot fall asleep I am waiting for The place at the end of the stream I have seen it before in my dreams While the world may be a mess I continue to take breath For the river is going, it never stops flowing and leading me closer to death
