Obliteration of the self, as my skin begins to melt I fall down The sun spirals overhead, a day without end I fall again My body weak and limp, crawling endlessly I stand again and take a deep breath My throat is parched and dry, I'm almost certain I will die No end in sight, blinded by this abyssal light My Journey's almost done I see the golden city, blazing in the sun Its towers touch the sky A crystal prism way up high Even though I'm almost there Death surrounds me everywhere I take this as a sign I'm running out of time Well beyond this desolation The city lies in wait A beam flies from the crystal And hits me in the chest
