Im Looking out a window On a gloomy rainy evening in the city There are cars and there are buses Rolling sadly down the street Making splashes on the ground In the puddles Making very lovely sounds I cant hear them There is wind and there is sunset And the lights go on in strange symmetric patterns And Im warm within the confines Of this room above the branches As they shake like I am shaking And they break like I am breaking Oh Its that sound that they are making Oh Id give my life to hear that sound again And when the lights go on I know that you've come home I can hear your voice Even when you've gone You say ill get use to this That there are more important things to miss Like the children by the bed On a summer evening right before the clouds roll in There are never ending fragments Of the sentences I wrote when I got lonely They go round and round my head sometimes Like clocks, I miss the ticking Or the sound of my heart beating Or the melody's repeating I could read your eyes like poetry I knew in time you've given up on me There are two things that ill miss When I walk out tonight and leave you all behind me Oh, the love that you have given and the love that you have taken From my heart when things got hard for you You walked away and left me by myself The stillness of my silent world I close the door It makes no sound But the heaviness has lifted And I feel like I am dancing Through the gloomy rainy evening Where it doesn't look so gloomy anymore to me I see it so clearly Will you even miss me?
