<i>(spoken)</i> My first instinct today was to write about the Spanish Armada, or maybe call them and invite them over for dinner. I've never been a big fan of armies, but I don't know anything about the Spanish Armada, so I have nothing against them. So they may benefit from my ignorance, and feel welcome in my home. Over dinner, we may discuss things, and I may learn more about them, and decide not to invite them back. Or perhaps they would invite me, and I would decide not to go. Because after having had a conversation with them over dinner at my place, I may have decided that these are not my kind of people. But I don't speak Spanish, so that probably would never happen.
